Forecasts made on September 29, 2014
-
After a long mild summer is coming to an end, we are forecasting to see our first glimpse of a strong stratospheric circulation event occurring between the dates of 10/08-10/13, which we will call event STRAT_A. This event is not expected to bring extremely cooler temperatures, but it will definitely bring relief from the warmer humid air covering much of the mid-latitudes across the globe.
-
We also see another above-normal strong mass transport event into the polar stratosphere in a few weeks after STRAT_A event, which we name it as STRAT_B. STRAT_B is expected to occur between 10/28 and 11/01, which can lead a cold air outbreak event in the week around the Halloween weekend.
