  • The last stratospheric event of the winter 2014-15, STRAT_L, had its first major peak on 04/14/2015 and delivered a net of 1 trillion ton of warm air at its peak time into the polar stratosphere. The second peak of STRAT_L is expected to occur around 04/20. It is still within the rangehat we forecasted since March 20, namely, April 16-22.  After the current episode of below-normal temperatures associated with the first peak, we will have a new round of stronger below-normal temperature events over a large area of US and Eurasia few days after 04/20.

  • STRAT_L already delivered its first peak and below-normal temperatures over US in the last few days and is continuing to do so in the next few days.  The second peak of STRAT_L is going to take place around 04/20 and we expect a new round of stronger (than the first peak) below-normal temperatures over a large area of US and Eurasia few days after 04/20.
